So, I have started teaching them the art of being an effective translator. I have taught all of them – English to Spanish translators, English to Russian translators and others how to work with CAT tools effectively, how to plan your translation projects better and how to properly use online resources for your translation project.

I have found out that the main reason for the ineffectively was their work with online resources. Each worked with different online resources – Some of them are unprofessional and amateur ones.

I had appointed one of my employees to be in charge of online resources – He had prepared a list of useful online links for translator – A list he has been constantly changing. This list includes free translators tools such as CAT tools, word count tools, conversion tools and various calculators, dictionaries and glossaries. The list also includes a list of freelance translators, translation companies, copywriters and proofreaders.

Then, this employee came to me with this outrageous idea – to put this precious list online. I could not accept it – this list gives my company an advantage over other translation companies and freelance translators. But, after thinking about it and being a good person I have decided to approve this idea.
